Tennis club to host the Black and Blue Tennis Shoot Out 
Registration will be open through day of event, June 5

LOS ANGELES—The Rancho Cienega Tennis Club, the largest Black tennis club in Los Angeles, will host the inaugural Black and Blue Tennis Shoot Out on Saturday, June 5, 2010 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Arthur Ashe Tennis Center of Los Angeles. 

The event is a round robin doubles tournament that will feature members of the Los Angeles tennis community of all skill levels playing with and against tennis players from the Los Angeles Police Department, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Los Angeles Fire Department and Los Angeles County Fire Department. 

Registration for interested tennis players is $20 and will be open through the day of the event. All interested players can register online at www.ranchotennisclub.org. Additionally, onsite registration will take place from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. the day of the tournament.

The event is free and open to the community to attend. The Arthur Ashe Tennis Center is located at 5001 S. Rodeo Blvd. in Los Angeles. For more information on the Rancho Cienega Tennis Club and the Black and Blue Shoot Out, visit www.ranchotennisclub.org.

The Rancho Cienega Tennis Club was formed in Los Angeles in 1957 by a group of dedicated African-American professionals and tennis players to provide an environment rich with activity for its members. The club promotes a lifestyle of good health, community service and opportunities to enjoy the game of tennis. RCTC actively promotes inner-league tennis teams and awards scholarships to local graduating seniors who are accepted to accredited colleges and universities.
